EL33TONLINE ? The Sims 3 Pets reviewed | Simprograms

As with all expansions, the Pets expansion also contains a big variety of new household items. These are mostly in a ranch style to go with the new Appaloosa Plains look and feel. By now your collection of items would have grown to an unmanageable size if you collected all the expansions. But building your house and finding a specific item or decoration is now extremely easy. The Sims 3: Pets now includes the ability to sort items by collection. The default collections are the expansion packs, but if you have your own set of items you like to use for new houses, then you can now create your own collections as well.

Mexico's top Cabinet secretary dies in crash (AP)

MEXICO CITY ? The country's top Cabinet secretary, Francisco Blake Mora, a key figure in Mexico's battle with drug cartels, died Friday in a helicopter crash that President Felipe Calderon said was probably an accident.

Blake Mora, 45, was the second interior minister, the No. 2 post in the government, to die in an air crash during Calderon's administration.

Despite some tendencies to suspect a hit on the top officials leading Calderon's offensive against organized crime, the crash that killed Blake Mora and seven others may have had to do with bad weather. A Learjet that slammed into a Mexico City street in 2008, killing former interior secretary Juan Camilo Mourino and 15 others, was blamed on pilot error.

One of Blake Mora's last postings on his Twitter account commemorated the loss of Mourino. "Today we remember Juan Camilo Mourino three years after his death, a person who was working to build a better Mexico," he tweeted on Nov. 4.

Blake Mora's death, while a blow to the government, is not likely to change policy or day-to-day operations.

Calderon, visibly emotional over the loss, said the Super Puma helicopter was flying in fog when it went down in a remote area southeast of Mexico City. Still, he said all possible causes were under investigation. He said the pilot had sufficient expertise.

"Mexico has lost a great patriot ... and I lost a dear friend," said Calderon, who struggled to maintain composure at one point during an address to the country. "He was not only an exemplary minister, he was an exemplary Mexican."

President Barack Obama called Calderon to offer his condolences.

Calderon appeared to try to quell any suggestions of sabotage, saying Blake Mora's helicopter "was always under guard" in the hangar of Mexico's equivalent of the Secret Service and that it had recently undergone maintenance.

Authorities said the undersecretary for human rights, Felipe Zamora, was among the seven others killed, including the pilot.

Calderon appointed Blake Mora as interior secretary in July 2010. That put him in charge of coordinating domestic policies including security, human rights, migration and the president's relation with the legislature and opposition parties.

Blake Mora was traveling to a prosecutors' meeting in the neighboring state of Morelos when the helicopter went down in a mountainous area of Chalco in the state of Mexico on the border with Mexico City.

"In the morning, there was a whole lot of fog," said homemaker Marisol Palacios, who lives on the lower slopes of the hill where the crash occurred.

She said she didn't hear the crash and wasn't aware anything had happened until helicopters carrying rescue teams arrived. Video of the wreckage suggested the helicopter plowed into the hillside and broke in half, but did not explode or burn.

Blake Mora started his political career in the mid-1990s as an official in his native Tijuana and served as a federal congressman through the 2000s, as well as interior secretary of Baja California.

As Calderon's point man in the government's war against organized crime, he frequently traveled to the country's most dangerous places for meetings with besieged state and local security officials.

He was an embodiment of the Mexican government's get-tough attitude, publicly pledging to bring the fight to the traffickers instead of backing down.

"Organized crime, in its desperation, resorts to committing atrocities that we can't and shouldn't tolerate as a government and as a society," he said.

He also oversaw response to disasters, such as flooding and the massive oil pipeline explosion that laid waste to parts of the central city of San Martin Texmelucan last year, killing at least 28 people.

He led the creation of a new national identity card for youths under 18, with modern features including digitalized fingerprints and iris images, to prevent criminals from using false IDs.

Blake Mora's funeral was scheduled for Saturday.

Calderon canceled many of his appearances, including a trip to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting of world leaders in Hawaii next week.

"Polls have been showing that insecurity now tops poverty as the No. 1 concern among Mexicans, and my sense is an accident like this or an event like this ... is going to increase the senses of uncertainty and insecurity," said George W. Grayson, a Mexico expert at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Suspicions commonly swirl around the deaths of prominent people in Mexico. It was hard for many to believe that two interior secretaries could die in air accidents in the same administration.

"This is very unfortunate," said Sinaloa Congressman Manuel Clouthier, whose own father, a popular politician in Calderon's National Action Party, died in a still-unexplained highway accident in 1989. "There are many coincidences because now we have two interior ministers (lost) in one presidential term ... who knows if we'll ever really know what happened."

In the crash that killed Mourino, the jet smashed into rush-hour traffic in a posh Mexico City business district, killing all nine on board and seven on the ground. Mexican investigators blamed the Learjet 45 crash on the turbulence from a larger plane flying ahead.

The investigation found that the pilots were slow to follow the control tower's instructions to reduce speed and appeared to be nearly one nautical mile too close behind a Boeing 767-300 on the same flight path to Mexico City's international airport.

Also killed in the crash was former anti-drug prosecutor Jose Luis Santiago Vasconcelos, who had been the target of at least one previous assassination plot.

The Mexican government provided a detailed account of the crash aimed at quelling widespread rumors that the plane was brought down by powerful and increasingly violent drug cartels.

In 2005, a helicopter crash blamed on poor weather conditions killed Mexico's top police official, public safety secretary Ramon Martin Huerta, who was head of federal police, and seven other people.

MF Global fires entire workforce (AP)

NEW YORK ? Defunct trading company MF Global Inc. has terminated its entire workforce of 1,066 employees, the trustee for its liquidation said Friday.

James W. Giddens, the court-appointed trustee for the liquidation of MF Global, said in a statement that the company is dismissing workers in accordance with a bankruptcy court mandate. Between 150 and 200 former employees are being hired to assist with the liquidation and court proceedings.

The company did not specify which employees it will rehire, presumably on a temporary basis, to help conduct the liquidation. A call to the trustee's office for further details was not immediately returned. A spokeswoman for MF Global did not provide immediate comment.

MF Global is facing a legally complicated liquidation. Regulators say $600 million in client money is missing. Other money that the company collected from clients has been frozen by a bankruptcy judge as he evaluates competing claims for the money.

Big derivatives clearinghouses such as IntercontinentalExchange Inc. have asked the judge to release that money to the clients who posted it.

MF Global collapsed after making a disastrous bet on European debt. The company traded derivatives contracts whose value was based on the value of an underlying asset, like interest rates, oil prices or currency rates.

MF Global was one of the biggest players in the derivatives market. Regulators are investigating whether the firm used money from clients' accounts as its own financial condition worsened. That would be a violation of securities rules.

MF Global did not immediately return a call seeking comment. It said in a statement that all the employees were notified of their termination Friday. The company said it is working to vacate its headquarters in New York as soon as possible and will close the facility. It said it would rent cheaper office space to house the small group of employees working on the liquidation.

The company has already transferred $1.5 billion in funds from 17,000 customer accounts to other derivatives and commodities merchants, the trustee said. Its parent company, MF Global Holdings Ltd., is involved in separate insolvency proceedings, he said.

Vogue labels Olsen twins best dressed sisters (omg!)

NEW YORK (Reuters) - They have always been in vogue, but twin actresses and clothing designers Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen are now truly in Vogue, gracing the cover of the fashion magazine's newest best dressed issue.

The widely-read edition, which was unveiled on Thursday and hits newsstands on November 15, puts its spotlight on nine global sister acts from British royalty, the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton and her sister Pippa, to celebrity singers Beyonce and Solange Knowles.

Also getting special mention inside the pages are the French Courtin-Clarin foursome, granddaughters of Clarins cosmetics company founder, Jacques Courtin-Clarin.

"It's been a year of sisters, most famously with Catherine and Pippa Middleton," Mark Holgate, Vogue Fashion News Director and Editor of the best dressed issue, told Reuters.

Holgate credits the Middletons with popularizing their own mid-thigh length of dress: "short enough to be impossible for an older-generation royal to wear, long enough to be decent when sitting or bending down to talk to a child."

But it was the Olsen twins, who rose to fame as child stars on U.S. TV and as adults founded two successful high-end clothing labels, who were picked for the prestigious cover.

Holgate called the choice: "kind of a no-brainer."

"Are there any more chic, stylish, cool, and original sisters than Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen? They are incredibly stylish," he said of the twins.

The fact they have appeared on worst dressed lists in the past, including an annual one from late fashion critic Mr. Blackwell, is actually a positive thing, said Holgate.

FREE-THINKING FASHION

"They (the Olsens) get it right a lot of the time and then sometimes they don't get it right. That's actually great because it shows that it's their hands reaching into their wardrobes," explained Holgate. "They don't have someone telling them, 'This is cool, this is hot, this is what you should be wearing.' It comes from within them. It's instinctual.

"Look at what they've done with (their fashion labels) The Row and Elizabeth and James," said Holgate. "They are legitimate fashion forces."

The issue also highlights sisters with contrasting styles, such as the Maras -- actresses Rooney of the upcoming "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" and Kate, currently seen on TV's thriller series "American Horror Story."

The magazine notes that Rooney Mara looked like "a goth Pippi Longstockings" at a recent Rodarte fashion show while Kate Mara "exudes the glamour of bygone screen sirens."

"There was just something interesting about seeing how siblings' style can be so different and unique," said Holgate. "We started thinking about all of the great sister acts who are around right now who look really good together but also look good apart."

The colorful Solange Knowles, younger sister of pop superstar Beyonce, is known for taking style risks including shaving her head, donning afro wigs and mixing prints and colors. But she told Vogue in an interview that both their tastes are evolving and bridging the gap between their styles.

"I never borrowed clothes from Beyonce when we were growing up," said Solange. "But now my style is a little more tame and hers is a little more adventurous."

Police: 2 wounded in bomb blast in north Nigeria (AP)

LAGOS, Nigeria ? Authorities say two people were wounded after a bomb exploded in a city in northern Nigeria.

Bauchi state police spokesman Mohammed Barau said Saturday that the explosion happened around 7 p.m. Friday in the state capital of Bauchi. Barau said explosive experts visited the scene of the blast inside the city and have begun an investigation.

Barau said police continued to investigate the blast, but had no idea of the motive behind the attack.

The attack comes after more than 100 people died in bombings and gunfights carried out Nov. 4 in northeast Nigeria. A radical Muslim sect known as Boko Haram claimed responsibility.

Boko Haram has been carrying out a string of targeted assassinations for more than a year by gunmen on motorcycles and carrying out bombings in the north.

NASA moves flight test of Orion capsule up to 2014

(AP) ? NASA says it will flight test its Orion crew space capsule three years earlier than planned.

The capsule will replace the retired space shuttle fleet. It will eventually be used to take four astronauts to nearby asteroids, the moon or Mars.

The first unmanned test flight of the capsule is now set for 2014 and will be on a commercial rocket. Originally, NASA was going to wait until 2017 when its own large rocket would be ready to launch a test of Orion.

But NASA officials said Tuesday they wanted to determine earlier how the Apollo-like capsule returns to Earth after two orbits and how NASA teams recover it from an ocean landing. The capsule will be reused. The additional test will cost about $370 million.
