Evicted 101-year-old woman is heading home again

John T. Greilick / The Detroit News via AP

Texana Hollis, 101, talks to Jahzara Cheeks in Detroit. Hollis was evicted from her home in September because her son failed to keep up with property tax payments.

By msnbc.com staff and news services

DETROIT -- A 101-year-old woman, Texana Hollis, who was evicted from her foreclosed house is expected to move back home next week.

The Detroit News reported that Hollis on Wednesday is expected to be back in the home where she previously lived for about 60 years.

Detroit Free Press columnist Mitch Albom and his charity S.A.Y. Detroit are helping to renovate Hollis' house. The author's charity bought the home from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to fix it up for Hollis.

Hollis was evicted Sept. 12 after her 65-year-old son failed to pay property taxes linked to a reverse mortgage and HUD foreclosed. Two days later, the department said she could return.

But that didn't happen because HUD said the home was unsanitary and unsafe.

Tamer Construction of Dearborn installed new walls, floors, ceilings and a roof, a new kitchen and bathroom, carpeting, electrical system and furnace, The Detroit News said.

Hollis said she plans to bake cookies for visitors to the home on Wednesday, said Chad Audi, president and CEO of Detroit Rescue Mission Missionaries, which led the fight to help her.

Apple issuing refunds over 4G LTE iPads sold in Australia

Apple?s latest generation iPad doesn?t pack a whole lot that?s new compared to its predecessors, but the features that Apple did introduce with the third-generation device are a pretty big deal. The most interesting might be the inclusion of 4G LTE, which gives the tablet some pretty intense data speeds, except if your country doesn?t support 4G.

That?s the case in Australia, where iPad buyers are up in arms. Like in other countries, Apple advertised the new iPad as being capable of attaining 4G speeds, which are significantly faster than the existing capabilities of 3G cellular networks: a difference of 10 megabits per second compared to 1-2 Mbps.

Trouble is, despite advertising to buyers that they could get 4G LTE speeds on their new iPads, the tablet isn?t actually compatible with Australian 4G networks, according to a report from Australian tech site Delimiter. The iPad is configured to access 4G networks at specific frequencies: the 700 Megahertz and 2100Mhz spectrum bands. That?s where 4G networks in the U.S. and Canada, for example, are located. But in Australia, cellular carriers Telstra and Optus are working on 4G networks based on the 1800Mhz spectrum.

Delimiter says that the new iPad is faster than the last two, but the increase in speed isn?t because of a 4G LTE network, but rather the device?s support for HDSPA, which Telstra also offers. The lack of 4G has also resulted in one consumer action group to file a lawsuit against Apple. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission filed a suit alleging that Apple misrepresented the capabilities of the iPad to customers.

In response, Apple has begun issuing refunds to buyers who felt they were misled, according to a story from The Verge. And the company has clarified its description of the iPad in its online store in Australia, making it more clear which networks the iPad can actually connect to ? namely, those outside of the country ? and making it easier for Australian buyers to understand they won?t be getting 4G speeds with the device.

In this April 29, 2011 photo, New York Yankees relief pitcher Joba Chamberlain (62) pitches in the eighth inning against the Toronto Blue Jays during a baseball game in New York. New York Yankees General manager Brian Cashman said Friday, March 23, 2012, that Chamberlain had surgery Thursday night and will be hospitalized for at least a few days. Cashman says the accident happened Thursday afternoon while Chamberlain and his son were at a Tampa-area spot that has trampoline equipment. The team is not saying whether Chamberlain was using any of the equipment. (AP Photo/Kathy Kmonicek)

(AP) ? New York Yankees reliever Joba Chamberlain says he fully expects to recover from his trampoline injury and pitch in the majors this season.

Chamberlain spoke Tuesday at the Yankees' spring training complex about last week's accident that left him with a dislocated right ankle. He is on crutches and will be in a cast for six weeks.

Chamberlain says he feels he let the team down. But he also says he's not second-guessing himself for playing with his 5-year-old son at a Tampa-area recreation spot.

The 26-year-old righty says he didn't break any bones and has been free of infection.

Chamberlain was in camp this spring working his way back from elbow ligament replacement surgery last year. He had been expected to return in June or July before his accident.

Researchers develop new plastics that 'bleed' and heal like human skin

Image
It looks like plastics may not be something for the squeamish in the not-too-distant future. Researchers from the University of Southern Mississippi recently revealed a new type of plastic they've been working on that takes its inspiration from human skin -- it "bleeds" red when it's scratched or cut and then heals itself when it's exposed to light. As Popular Science notes, self-healing plastics aren't something entirely new, but the "bleeding" (achieved using small molecular links or "bridges" that break when the plastic is scratched) is, as is the fact that this plastic an heal itself over and over again in the same spot. What's more, as it's made from water-based copolymers, it's also more environmentally-friendly than other plastics. Of course, it's all a ways from being used in actual products, but the researchers see no shortage of possibilities, including everything from self-healing car fenders to aircraft applications that could warn of problems before they get too severe.

When it rains Archos tablets, it pours Archos tablets. A day after The Arnova A9 G3 tablet strutted its way through the commission's approval process and into our hearts, two more members of the line the are ready for their cold, governmental closeups. Archos's Arnova 7F G3 and 8C G3 have also found their way onto the the FCC's site, carrying on the company's long standing policy of making a heck of a lot of tablets -- these ones, most likely, are set to serve as the seven and eight-inch counterparts to their slightly larger, slightly older sibling.

o cozinheiro este algarve: Soup from the spectrum

We are two days into spring and our thoughts turn to lifting our spirits. It is at this time every year that paint manufacturers launch on us their new range of colour swatches.Colour plays such an important role in our lives and is something I have always been fascinated by.At art college I presented a project to my fellow students on the psychology behind the colour of food and? how it influences what we eat. I added food colouring to foods we eat everyday; for example I asked my audience to drink milk that was black.Regardless of the fact that the taste remained unchanged the response was not surprisingly 100% negative."Computer said NO." The brain was telling them it was wrong. In my previous incarnation as a graphic designer I constantly found myself working with colour swatches and colour matching systems.I have always loved thumbing through these colour charts like a spectrum flicker book.Yesterday I was flicking through the CIN paint chart and realised the spring colour range was close to the soup I was cooking. It occured to me that there must be a subliminal connection between my cooking and my days behind a drawing desk.I decided my? butternut squash soup was PO DE ESTRELA E263.I will now be even more conscience of the colour in the food I am presenting.Next stop peas - I am excited.

Butternut squash soup - Sopa abobora manteiga

The intrinsic sweetness of the butternut squash is what makes this soup.Try to get hold of the best squash available. If you? cannot find any butternut, try substituting it with one of the many other squash or pumpkin varieties. This soup contains a large amount of butter which can be reduced but you should however try this version once.
1kg butternut squash
1 large onion
200g unsalted butter
1 litre water
Up to 750g full fat milk
salt and cayenne pepper

Peel the squash, halve it lengthways and scoop out the seeds.Slice the flesh as thinly as possible ( on a mandolin ( if you have one) or a vegetable peeler. Halve the onion, then peel and slice it as thinly as possible too.Take a heavy based casserole, large enough to hold all the ingredients.Sweat the onion and squash with 150g of the butter over a medium to low heat for 10 minutes.Turn up the heat, add the water, bring to the boil, then simmer for 30 minutes or until the vegetables are soft.Remove from the heat, liquidise. The soup will need thinning with the milk Add enough to? obtain your desired consistency, but make sure that you are not diluting the flavour too much.To finish, re-heat gently, whisking in the remaining butter (optional ). Sprinkle with a light dusting of cayenne pepper and a leaf motif. Check the seasoning and serve.

Garnish with some croutons and a bit of parmesan. For something a little different try "self" croutons. Lightly saut?e some cubed butternut squash to give some added bite, or for a fresher taste contrast the soup with some cubed melon croutons. This is something to try with other soups - throwing in a little of the main ingredient cooked in a different way, to build layers of flavour.

Op-Ed: How Traditional Publishing Hurts Scientific Progress
A battle that has raged for over a decade between advocates of open science and publishers of traditional scientific journals is coming to a head. Traditional publishers are fighting to defend their paywalls, but molecular biologist and co-founder of the open access publisher Public Library of Science, Michael Eisen argues that keeping published research locked up hurts scientific progress and shortchanges the public.

Facebook stalking in the name of affirmative action

Ahead of the Supreme Court hearing on affirmative action, I recall how at Roll Call newspaper, I was told that one of our three interns had to be from a racial minority. Diversity is important, but giving someone an advantage beyond his experience degrades the applicant and the hirer.

There I was, Facebook stalking again. But I wasn?t chasing after an old boyfriend or trying to see if my niece was having too good a time in Italy. As the internship coordinator for Roll Call (now CQ Roll Call), a newspaper covering Congress on Capitol Hill, I was looking at the faces of candidates for internships.

One might ask: Why did I care about what a prospective intern would look like? The answer was that I was told that out of three interns hired each semester at Roll Call, one of them had to be from a racial minority: African-American, Hispanic, Asian, South Asian, Native American. And in some cases, what you can?t tell from a name you can see from a picture.

Mike Mills, the paper's editorial director,?denies that Roll Call had a policy to "tip the scales in favor of any candidate solely to fulfill our our diversity goals," but I was given a clear directive otherwise, initiated when I was with Roll Call in 2009 and 2010. It was part of an overall push to improve diversity at the newspaper, which is owned by The Economist Group. The company felt, laudably, that an ethical work environment is one that offers opportunities to those who may not have had them in the past.

I want to be clear that I think the goal is a good one: Most newsrooms these days are anything but diverse, and that lack of diversity affects the kinds of stories covered, the approach to those stories, the photographs, the headlines, everything.

But is there a way to fix this ? at least a better way than using race as a key part of the selection criteria? The US Supreme Court will to take up a version of that question itself when it hears a case that challenges the University of Texas's race-conscious admissions practices later this year. In 2003, the court ruled that public colleges could use race in a vague way as a criterion for college admissions. But now the court has agreed to look at a case involving admissions at the University of Texas. Observers predict that the more conservative bench today is likely to end any kind of race-based preference in higher education.

In my case, what I discovered in my hunt for the right interns was an obstacle that had less to do with racial factors and more to do with economic ones. When I started at Roll Call as features editor in charge of internships, we offered three unpaid internships each semester and in the summer. What that meant was that one of the main qualifications for the job was a set of parents who were able and willing to allow their child to work fulltime for free for several months, with the hope that it might lay the groundwork for future employment.

Employers ask job seekers for Facebook passwords

When Justin Bassett interviewed for a new job, he expected the usual questions about experience and references. So he was astonished when the interviewer asked for something else: his Facebook username and password.

Bassett, a New York City statistician, had just finished answering a few character questions when the interviewer turned to her computer to search for his Facebook page. But she couldn't see his private profile. She turned back and asked him to hand over his login information.

Bassett refused and withdrew his application, saying he didn't want to work for a company that would seek such personal information. But as the job market steadily improves, other job candidates are confronting the same question from prospective employers, and some of them cannot afford to say no.

In their efforts to vet applicants, some companies and government agencies are going beyond merely glancing at a person's social networking profiles and instead asking to log in as the user to have a look around.

"It's akin to requiring someone's house keys," said Orin Kerr, a George Washington University law professor and former federal prosecutor who calls it "an egregious privacy violation."

Questions have been raised about the legality of the practice, which is also the focus of proposed legislation in Illinois and Maryland that would forbid public agencies from asking for access to social networks.

Since the rise of social networking, it has become common for managers to review publically available Facebook profiles, Twitter accounts and other sites to learn more about job candidates. But many users, especially on Facebook, have their profiles set to private, making them available only to selected people or certain networks.

Companies that don't ask for passwords have taken other steps ? such as asking applicants to friend human resource managers or to log in to a company computer during an interview. Once employed, some workers have been required to sign non-disparagement agreements that ban them from talking negatively about an employer on social media.

Asking for a candidate's password is more prevalent among public agencies, especially those seeking to fill law enforcement positions such as police officers or 911 dispatchers.

Back in 2010, Robert Collins was returning to his job as a correctional officer at the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services after taking a leave following his mother's death. During a reinstatement interview, he was asked for his login and password, purportedly so the agency could check for any gang affiliations. He was stunned by the request but complied.

"I needed my job to feed my family. I had to," he recalled.

After the ACLU complained about the practice, the agency amended its policy, asking instead for job applicants to log in during interviews.

"To me, that's still invasive. I can appreciate the desire to learn more about the applicant, but it's still a violation of people's personal privacy," said Collins, whose case inspired Maryland's legislation.

Until last year, the city of Bozeman, Mont., had a long-standing policy of asking job applicants for passwords to their email addresses, social-networking websites and other online accounts.

And since 2006, the McLean County, Ill., sheriff's office has been one of several Illinois sheriff's departments that ask applicants to sign into social media sites to be screened.

Chief Deputy Rusty Thomas defended the practice, saying applicants have a right to refuse. But no one has ever done so. Thomas said that "speaks well of the people we have apply."

When asked what sort of material would jeopardize job prospects, Thomas said "it depends on the situation" but could include "inappropriate pictures or relationships with people who are underage, illegal behavior."

In Spotsylvania County, Va., the sheriff's department asks applicants to friend background investigators for jobs at the 911 dispatch center and for law enforcement positions.

"In the past, we've talked to friends and neighbors, but a lot of times we found that applicants interact more through social media sites than they do with real friends," said Capt. Mike Harvey. "Their virtual friends will know more about them than a person living 30 yards away from them."

Harvey said investigators look for any "derogatory" behavior that could damage the agency's reputation.

E. Chandlee Bryan, a career coach and co-author of the book "The Twitter Job Search Guide," said job seekers should always be aware of what's on their social media sites and assume someone is going to look at it.

Bryan said she is troubled by companies asking for logins, but she feels it's not a violation if an employer asks to see a Facebook profile through a friend request. And she's not troubled by non-disparagement agreements.

"I think that when you work for a company, they are essentially supporting you in exchange for your work. I think if you're dissatisfied, you should go to them and not on a social media site," she said.

More companies are also using third-party applications to scour Facebook profiles, Bryan said. One app called BeKnown can sometimes access personal profiles, short of wall messages, if a job seeker allows it.

Sears is one of the companies using apps. An applicant has the option of logging into the Sears job site through Facebook by allowing a third-party application to draw information from the profile, such as friend lists.

Sears Holdings Inc. spokeswoman Kim Freely said using a Facebook profile to apply allows Sears to be updated on the applicant's work history.

The company assumes "that people keep their social profiles updated to the minute, which allows us to consider them for other jobs in the future or for ones that they may not realize are available currently," she said.

Giving out Facebook login information violates the social network's terms of service. But those terms have questionable legal weight, and experts say the legality of asking for such information remains murky.

The Department of Justice regards it as a federal crime to enter a social networking site in violation of the terms of service, but during recent congressional testimony, the agency said such violations would not be prosecuted.

Lori Andrews, a law professor at IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law specializing in Internet privacy, is concerned about the pressure placed on applicants, even if they voluntarily provide access to social sites.

"Volunteering is coercion if you need a job," Andrews said.

Neither Facebook nor Twitter responded to repeated requests for comment.

In New York, Bassett considered himself lucky that he was able to turn down the consulting gig at a lobbying firm.

"I think asking for account login credentials is regressive," he said. "If you need to put food on the table for your three kids, you can't afford to stand up for your belief."

Cellmate: Clooney gave Pitt's name during arrest

Actor George Clooney is arrested during a demonstration outside the Embassy of Sudan in Washington on March 16.

By Access Hollywood

When George Clooney was arrested on Friday during a protest at the Sudanese Embassy in Washington, D.C., the actor allegedly tried to pin his crime on pal Brad Pitt.

Clooney?s cellmate and fellow protester, Fred Kramer -- executive director of Jewish World Watch -- stopped by Access Hollywood Live on Monday giving Billy Bush and Kit Hoover an account of being behind bars with the star following the protest of Sudan?s blockage of food and other humanitarian aid from entering the country.

"I was in the paddy wagon with George, and I think three congressmen and Martin Luther King III. It was dignified, an incredible array of activists and champions for the issue,? Kramer recounted.

According to Kramer, his famous cell mate kept his sense of humor during the incident.

?George was really the movie star gentlemen, he made everyone feel comfortable. He was cracking jokes,? he explained. ?When it came time to tell the Secret Service who we all were, he tried to pass himself off as Brad Pitt.?

All jokes aside, Kramer said the Oscar winner is very serious about the crisis in Sudan, telling Billy and Kit, ?He?s knowledgeable about the issues, he?s active, he?s engaged.?

And although they ended up being held, the group put their time together to good use.

?The time in the cell was pretty incredible, it was like a little conference,? he explained. ?We spent those couple of hours in the pokey sitting and talking about what could be done and how the United States government can lead the thought on this.?

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, the actor and his father, journalist Nick Clooney, were arrested for civil disobedience on Friday.

(AP) ? Norfolk State was a good story while it lasted.

Against Florida, that wasn't for long.

Kenny Boynton scored 20 points and the balanced Gators routed the 15th-seeded Spartans 84-50 on Sunday to reach the regional semifinals of the NCAA tournament for the second straight year.

Any hope Norfolk State had of matching the upset it pulled against Missouri on Friday vanished as the Gators went on a 25-0 run in the first half.

Now Florida is off to Phoenix to face Marquette on Thursday in the round of 16.

"It's a great feeling, a good accomplishment," said the Gators' Erving Walker. "It would be even better to get to the Final Four, so we've still got work to do."

The Gators (25-10) had a business-as-usual air about them after dispatching the Spartans. After all, Florida is 17-2 in NCAA tournament games since 2005-06. Combined with their 71-45 win over Virginia on Friday, the Gators left Omaha with two wins by a total margin of 60 points.

Not too shabby for a No. 7 seed.

"There are certain guys who want this kind of stage," Florida coach Billy Donovan said. "In this tournament you have to have players who play fearlessly on both ends of the floor and are not worried about making mistakes and are competitive and are driven to want to be great."

Norfolk State (26-10) shook up the West Regional with its upset Friday and was trying to become the first 15 seed to reach the regional semifinals.

Florida put a quick end to that idea, making five 3-pointers during the 25-0 run that made it 29-6 midway through the first half.

"They have a coach who has won two national championships. Clearly it was my first time and our team's first time," Norfolk State coach Anthony Evans said. "If we get back to this point we will know how to handle it and how to get to the next step."

Florida, 4 for 23 from beyond the arc against Virginia, rediscovered its shooting touch early against Norfolk State, making five of its first eight 3-point attempts and 10 of 28 for the game.

Walker finished with 15 points for the Gators. Bradley Beal scored 14, Mike Rosario had 12 and Erik Murphy 10.

"Once we went on the 25-0 run, they kind of shut down from there on," Beal said. "Because we knew they were capable of making 3s, we didn't want them to keep the game close and get back into the game. So we did a great job of putting the pedal to the metal and knocking down shots and playing good defense."

The resounding loss put a damper on a fun couple of days for Norfolk State center Kyle O'Quinn, who got the celebrity treatment after collecting 26 points and 14 rebounds against Missouri.

O'Quinn was a walking quote machine in the 24 hours after the shocking win over Missouri. He talked about how the upset even blew up his own bracket, how he watched the cheerleaders during breaks in the action and how he was more concerned with having fun than playing basketball in high school.

He wasn't nearly as entertaining on the court against Florida. He missed eight of nine shots and finished with four points ? his lowest output since he scored two points in a 32-point December loss at Illinois State. His only field goal was a first-half dunk, and he played only 23 minutes after logging 37 against Missouri.

"We knew this was going to be tough," O'Quinn said. "You have to have things go your way, and tonight nothing went our way. When they hit a 3, it kills the momentum. It pushes you back. When you see the scoreboard and it's not going the way you want it, it's tough."

The Spartans, who shot 54 percent and made 10 of 19 3-pointers against Missouri, shot 27 percent and were 4 of 24 on 3s against the Gators.

Boynton, who had made just 4 of his previous 21 3s, hit from long distance to start Florida's decisive run.

"I haven't ever been part of anything like that, a 25-0 run," Boynton said. "But I think we did a great job getting stops and converting on the offensive end, and that showed the level of focus we had out there."

The big surge featured the frenetic temp that Florida enjoys. The Spartans missed 10 shots in a row, and each time the smaller Gators got the rebound, they pushed the ball quickly up the floor.

Erik Murphy hit back-to-back 3s, Bradley made one and Beal tipped in Scottie Wilbekin's missed 3 before Norfolk State ended a field-goal drought that lasted more than 7 minutes.

Norfolk State got into the tournament by winning the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tournament. The Spartans carried an eight-game winning streak into the matchup with Florida and came into the arena exuding confidence ? and played with it the first few minutes.

O'Quinn, who took only 30 3-pointers for the season, opened the game by launching one from above the top of the key. He missed, then went back on defense and blocked Patric Young's first shot.

Chris McEachin hit a 3, and Rodney McCauley swooped in to put back a miss, got fouled and made the free throw, and Norfolk State was up 6-4.

Then came Florida's game-breaking run. The Spartans' next, and last, highlight came nine minutes later on a backboard-shaking dunk by O'Quinn. Problem was, that was the big guy's first points of the game, and it only cut Florida's lead to 33-13.

The Spartans received a standing ovation as they walked off the court after the game.

"For everybody to witness that step forward we took as a university, you've got to be proud," O'Quinn said. "We were not satisfied with losing, but we knew coming in you either win a national championship or you lose. That's the nature of the game. We did something that's never been done at our university before."

Ought to You have Affair Relationships To Save An Unhappy One ...

It isn?t all that uncommon these days to have affair relationships. There are lots of men who?ve ?another woman? on the side and in fact you will find also fairly a great deal of ladies who have ?another man?. It might appear thrilling to become involved in an affair relationship but is it really worth losing your marriage or your current long-term relationship more than?

Individuals frequently have affair relationships because they are not pleased in their present relationship. If this is the case, then why not end the current relationship or take actions to improve it. If you are getting an affair or contemplating getting one then put yourself inside your partner?s shoes and think about how you?d feel if they had an affair. Would you believe it was ok for your wife or husband to cheat on you?

If you are relationship is not all that exciting or has been having difficulty then talk to your partner and let them know how you are feeling. If you are relationship is something you cherish and want to continue then it is worth trying to function out any issues which you have. Your partner cannot assist work out any issues if they don?t know you?re unhappy. If you love your partner then you owe them the chance to try and make your relationship work rather than looking for happiness with somebody else on the side.

If you?re just not pleased with your current partner and know that the relationship will by no means be any much better then you need to consider ending the relationship instead of getting affair relationships to help keep you pleased. Ending a relationship is really a big step and one that you are attempting to steer clear of but if it?s inevitable then you need to do it.

Occasionally it can seem easier to remain in an unhappy relationship because you may rely on your partner for assistance. If your partner will be the main revenue earner then it could be a struggle financially if you ended the relationship. If this really is the case then it might seem simpler to continue getting affairs rather than finish this relationship and be on your personal. If you?re unhappy then there?s no point trying to reconcile and make a relationship work, and monetary reasons are not sufficient to stay in an unhappy relationship.

Lack of communication is usually a big reason why relationships fail when a couple become unhappy but they do not comprehend their partner?s feelings. If you are partner is not conscious which you are unhappy or why you are unhappy then they can?t do anything to help the situation. It may be that your partner is perfectly happy within the relationship and assumes that you are too and unless you let them know otherwise then they will continue to believe that everything is all correct. If you let them understand that you are not happy then you can work together to enhance issues.

When you have tried to enhance the relationship and it does not function and you are nonetheless unhappy then it?s time the relationship came to an end. It is not fair for your partner to leave them hanging on simply because you?re also afraid to take the step and move on even though you are not happy. It is also not fair on your partner in the event you leave them hanging on whilst you have affair relationships.

If you?re perfectly pleased in your current relationship but nonetheless really feel compelled to have affair relationships then this really is something you might want to seek counseling for. It is feasible you might possess a sex addiction or some deeper emotional problems that have to be dealt with.

Some marriages and relationships survive affairs reasonably easily and other people do not. Some partners even agree to permit affairs in their relationship. With this type of relationship they may stay together and share monetary responsibilities and even children but both are having affairs and that?s accepted.

In the event you feel that you can never be pleased tied down to 1 person and need to have affairs then maybe you need someone that?s open to having this kind of open relationship where you have an agreement that you can both have affairs. This way you?re each performing exactly the same factor and no-one will get hurt.

When you have had an affair and your partner has found out, the relationship isn?t necessarily over. Numerous relationships have survived affairs and in the event you as well as your partner have a strong commitment then this affair may not have to be the end of your marriage.

Had been you conscious that 95% of people are unsuccessful from ?Dating? along with Ive identified a technique to take care of this difficulty . Its absolutely nothing youve seen prior lately been widely revealed.
To figure out how its go to:
how to get your man back
get her back forever
how to get your ex back fast

Annan warns of regional fallout after Damascus blasts

Two huge bomb blasts killed at least 27 people in Syria's capital, as special envoy Kofi Annan warned of regional fallout from the year-long bloodshed.

An Arab diplomat told AFP Saudi Arabia has started delivering arms to Syrian rebels through Jordan, a claim denied by Amman, while rival Iran is already suspected of sending weapons to its Syrian regime allies.

State television said the early morning "terrorist" attacks, apparently car bombings timed minutes apart, had targeted police headquarters in the Duwar al-Jamarek area and air force intelligence offices in Al-Qasaa district.

The explosions killed 27 people, mainly civilians, and wounded 140 civilians and security personnel, the interior ministry said.

As angry residents vented their fury at Arab supporters of anti-regime activists, the state broadcaster ran footage of a charred body inside the mangled remains of a smouldering vehicle in Duwar al-Jamarek.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon denounced the bomb blasts and urged an end to the violence.

Extending his condolences to the bereaved families, "the secretary general calls for all violence to cease immediately," a statement released by his office said.

From Paris, French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe said: "France condemns all acts of terrorism, which cannot be justified under any circumstances."

France has been at the forefront of calls for Assad to quit.

Egypt's Foreign Minister Mohammed Kamel Amr affirmed Cairo's "fixed position against terrorism in any form, regardless of the reasons behind it."

Bombings have hit Syria's major cities in recent months, provoking mounting concern that Al-Qaeda has taken advantage of the uprising against President Bashar al-Assad.

Syria's opposition, however, has accused the regime of stage-managing the attacks.

Commentators on state television blamed Qatar and Saudi Arabia, Assad's fiercest Arab critics over his regime's deadly crackdown on dissent since March 2011. Both countries have called for rebels to be armed.

"Saudi Arabia is sending us terrorists," a resident of the devastated areas said on television.

Another said "these are the friends... of the Istanbul council," referring to the opposition Syrian National Council set up in the Turkish city last August.

An Arab diplomat told AFP that Saudi Arabia, which closed its embassy in Damascus this week, was delivering military equipment to Syrian rebels.

"Saudi military equipment is on its way to Jordan to arm the (rebel) Free Syrian Army," the diplomat said, on condition of anonymity. "This is a Saudi initiative to stop the massacres in Syria."

Jordan rejected the report.

"Jordan categorically denies the report," government spokesman and information minister Rakan Majali told AFP. "This is completely baseless."

Iraq, another neighbour of Syria, has informed Tehran it will not allow arms shipments to the country to pass through or over its territory, Baghdad government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh said on Saturday.

The United States has said it was concerned that Iranian cargo flights over Iraq to Syria could be carrying arms to help Damascus crush protests.

Tehran on Saturday condemned the Damascus blasts, blaming them on unnamed countries supplying arms to Syrian rebels, Iran's official IRNA news agency reported.

On Friday, UN-Arab League peace envoy Annan warned of a regional "escalation" of the Syria conflict and urged the UN Security Council to close ranks to put pressure on Assad.

The former United Nations chief, who met Assad in Damascus last weekend, has ordered a team of UN experts to Syria to discuss a possible ceasefire and international monitoring mission, his spokesman said.

Permanent Security Council members Russian and China have twice vetoed Security Council resolutions on the Syrian crisis that they said were unbalanced.

Syria's foreign ministry said the country would cooperate with Annan and at the same time pursue its crackdown on "armed terrorist gangs" it blames for the bloodshed.

Thousands of anti-government protesters called on Friday for foreign military intervention as the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said at least 18 people were killed nationwide.

In London on Saturday, British photographer Paul Conroy -- wounded in a bombardment in Homs last month that killed his Sunday Times colleague Marie Colvin and French photographer Remi Ochlik -- also urged military intervention.

"It's about life and death now. We must put enclaves in place, defend them from the air and the ground and save lives. Diplomacy, I'm afraid, has had its chance. It's failed," Conroy told the BBC.

In Washington, thousands of protesters gathered outside the White House to demand that the United States "stop the massacre in Syria."

The Britain-based Observatory said funerals were held on Saturday for two people killed during a Friday protest at Al-Raqqa in the northeast and security forces opened fire on mourners, killing another two people.

Huge rallies in support of Assad were held in Damascus and other major cities on Thursday to mark the first anniversary of the uprising that monitors say has cost more than 9,100 lives in 12 months.

Apart from Annan's technical team, the UN and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation are to send experts to Damascus on a Syrian government-led humanitarian mission to protest cities devastated in shelling by security forces.

The team members will head to Damascus from New York and Geneva on Monday, Annan's spokesman said.
